Receiving an international money transfer with Xe is quick and simple — the funds go straight to your bank account, no branch visit or pickup required.

You'll need a bank account
Online transfers are deposited directly into a bank account in your name. If you don't have one, you can open one online or by phone in a few minutes.

Share your bank details with the sender
To send the transfer, your sender will need:

  • The country your bank account is in

  • Your full name (as it appears on your account)

  • Your residential address (not a P.O. box or bank address)

  • Your bank account number

  • Your BIC or SWIFT code

  • Your bank name

When the money will arrive
Most transfers arrive within 1 to 4 business days, and some land in just a few minutes depending on the payment method and destination. The sender sees the expected arrival time before confirming and can track the transfer's status online — so if you're wondering where your money is, start by asking them for an update.

Accepting the transfer
The money is deposited automatically — just wait for your bank to notify you. If anything looks off, the sender can contact us directly.

The exact information depends on the country and payout method, but for a typical bank transfer with Xe, you’ll usually need:

  • The recipient’s full legal name

  • Their residential address (not a P.O box or bank address)

  • Their bank account number

  • Their bank name

  • Their SWIFT/BIC code (for international transfers)

  • Sometimes the country where their bank account is held

  • Recipient’s name

  • Account number

  • Routing number (specifically the ACH Routing Number)

  • Recipient bank name

If you’re sending for cash pickup, your recipient usually just needs:

  • A valid government-issued photo ID that matches the transfer name

  • The transfer PIN/reference number

Best practice: Ask your recipient to confirm their bank details directly from their bank statement or banking app before you send. Even a small mistake can delay or fail the transfer.
