BANGKOK, June 20 (Reuters) - PTT Exploration and Production Pcl (PTTEP), Thailand's top oil and gas explorer, said on Thursday it had started operations at the Montara oil field off Australia.
Oil production is projected to be 21,000 barrels per day (bpd) initially, rising to 30,000 bpd after the completion of one additional development well scheduled for the second half of 2013, it told the Stock Exchange of Thailand.
The first crude oil sales are expected in August this year, it added.
The start-up of the Montara field had been delayed several times after development was disrupted by a fire in 2009.
