FRANKFURT, Jan 30 (Reuters) - European Central Bank Governing Council member Jens Weidmann said there is a new way of interacting with central banks, warning that too much political influence could in the long term threaten price stability.
'We are experiencing today a new kind of relationship towards central banks, for example in Japan, where the government is exerting strong pressure on the central bank,' Weidmann, who also heads the German Bundesbank, told Die Zeit newspaper in an interview.
