BERLIN, Jan 28 (Reuters) - Germany's environment minister said on Monday his new proposal for lowering electricity to consumers by sharing out the burden of the switch to renewable energy involved cutting support for existing green power installations for a limited period.
Environment Minister Peter Altmaier said the proposal, which needs approval by the economy ministry and German states before he can get the legislation approved by Aug. 1 this year as he plans, foresees cuts in support of between 1 and 1.5 percent.
