JERUSALEM, Oct 20 (Reuters) - Karnit Flug has been appointed as the next governor of the Bank of Israel, the prime minister's office said on Sunday.
In a statement, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Finance Minister Yair Lapid said they were both impressed by Flug's performance as acting governor over the past several months and that they were confident she would lead Israel's economy to further achievements.
Flug served as deputy to previous governor Stanley Fischer, who stepped down in June.
