Treasury Department sells 10-year notes, 11:30 a.m. (1630

FEDERAL RESERVE:
The Federal Open Market Committee releases statement on
interest rate policy, Washington, D.C., 12:30 p.m. (1730 GMT).
The Fed is expected to keep the fed funds rate in the current
0.0 percent to 0.25 percent range. Forecasts are expected at 2
p.m. (1900 GMT), and news conference is set for 2:15 p.m. (1915
GMT)
ECONOMIC INDICATORS :
The Mortgage Bankers Association releases Weekly Mortgage
Market Index for the week ended Dec. 7 versus the prior week, 7
a.m. (1200 GMT). The mortgage market index read 877.0 and the
refinancing index was 4,856.7 in the previous week.
The Labor Department releases import-export priced for
November, 8:30 a.m. (1330 GMT). Economists in a Reuters survey
forecast a 0.5 percent drop in import prices and an unchanged
reading for exports. In October, import prices were up 0.5
percent and export prices were flat.
Treasury Department issues monthly budget for November, 2
p.m. (1900 GMT). Economists in a Reuters survey forecast a
$150.0 billion deficit compared with an October budget deficit
of $120.0 billion.
