SYDNEY, Dec 4 (Reuters) - Australian approvals to build new

homes in October, seasonally adjusted, released by the

Australian Bureau of Statistics on Tuesday.

Private sector houses 7,451 7,567 -1.5

Total houses 7,549 7,681 -1.7

Total private dwellings 12,267 13,444 -8.8

Total dwelling units 12,540 13,575 -7.6

Annual change in total approvals to build new homes: +14.5

percent.

Forecasts centred on a fall of 2.0 percent on the month for

total approvals, a Reuters poll showed.
