LONDON, Nov 5 (Reuters) - The Bank of England said on Thursday it would split its gilt purchases into a two-week cycle after it announced it would conduct a further 25 billion pounds of quantitative easing purchases over the next three months.
The BoE said it would continue to purchase the same gilts as previously, but at half the pace of before.
In the first week of each two week cycle it would buy 10-25 year gilts on the Monday and 3-10 year gilts on the Wednesday, while in the second week of each cycle it would buy gilts with maturities of over 25 years on Tuesdays.
The BoE said it would buy no gilts in the weeks starting Dec. 21 and Dec. 28, and would publish further details at 1600 GMT.
