

MADRID, Sept 18 (Reuters) - The idea of replacing the dollar as the main reserve currency with the International Monetary Fund's SDRs (special drawing rights) is unviable, EU Monetary Commissioner Joaquin Almunia said on Friday.
Europe would not would not want too much Chinese reserve diversification into the euro, as this would cause an appreciation of the single European currency, Almunia said at a conference.
