Community Manager

We’re looking for a Community Manager who is passionate about what they do and can translate that passion into building a strong brand relationship and brand storytelling program as a means of engaging with our current and potential customers/clients.

We would love to hear from you if you are a real ‘people person’ who has excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with teams across the organization and with our partner organizations to develop our community programming.

We’re looking for someone with great time management skills, ability to multitask, and someone with great intuition - a smart and passionate person who works well under pressure.

Our ideal candidate will have an outgoing personality to act as our brand ambassador at networking and industry events.

Being a Community Manager isn’t a 9-5 job which means that the job involves working some evenings and weekends, and responding to community members outside of work hours.

  • Social Media - create, manage and grow the company’s presence through blogs, Twitter, Facebook, and other strategically relevant online properties.
  • Events & Event Planning - attending industry events when required (often outside of 9-5 hours) and planning industry events for our brand as required.
  • Customer Relations and Support - this role will be responsible for customer support on our social channels – answering questions through our Social platforms and managing any online feedback forums.
  • Communications/Marketing Strategy - the Community Manager is responsible for creating strategic marketing/communications plans to provide direction for the company’s public-facing communications.
  • Public Relations - managing incoming media requests and building relationships with industry journalists; creating, executing and measuring media campaigns and managing the day to day agency relationship.
  • Content Creation - working with our internal team and partners to build out a network of external partners to create, leverage and publish compelling and relevant content in a variety of media- blogs, podcasts, video etc. to drive growth, retention and engagement.
  • Thought Leadership - identifying and leveraging opportunities to build out audiences and consumer/brand engagement through speaking opportunities and industry events. Seeking out opportunities to position XE as a subject matter expert and a key resource in industry related stories.
  • Degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, PR or a Corporate Communications certificate.
  • 5-7 years of demonstrated experience in building out a brand community through social platforms, content development and creation and leveraging online communities for business development and engagement.
  • Social Media Experience - we’re looking for someone who has strong experience with social media monitoring and measurement tools and someone who can comfortably navigate WordPress, LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook for business – specifically regional and geo-targeted campaigns. We’re looking for someone with demonstrated experience in building out a social community and leveraging platforms as a means of brand storytelling and engagement.
  • Content Creation - demonstrated experience writing/editing blog posts, articles, newsletters, communications materials, and material for social media channels.
  • Social Media Marketing - experience creating, managing and growing the company presence through blogs, Twitter, Facebook, and other strategically relevant online properties.
  • Analytics - experience using Google Analytics and other measurement tools to provide reports on metrics, and continually find ways to improve on those metrics through testing and new initiatives.
  • Business Development - experience with leveraging social platforms as a means of generating leads and new business opportunities.
  • Writing Skills - a background in journalism/communications or experience with writing is preferred.
  • PR Experience - experience with public relations and managing agency relationships.
  • Global Brand Storytelling - experience with a global brand and developing regional social programming and content reflective of regional needs and consumer behavior.
