Solid European sellers were seen into 1.3400, some related to defense of barrier options at the figure, and the move back under 1.3370 resulted in weak intra day longs bailing out of positions quickly. There were mixed flows during the European morning. EUR-USD threatened 1.3400 as a rise in risk appetite boosted EUR-JPY, while EUR-AUD saw more hedge fund demand. Markets were in a holding pattern ahead of the FOMC outcome on Wednesday. There remained further conjecture on Monday over when the Fed could taper QE.
